Where we stayed last night

This hotel was pretending to be a Templar castle. The Knights Templar protected the pilgrims from bandits along the road, until the order was suppressed by the French king in the 14th century. In Spain, many of the knights carried on under different names, such as the Knights of Santiago.

Tonight we're in a place on top of a shopping mall, with a restaurant that doesn't open on Sundays - so we've just had burgers and chips in the bowling alley. There's no end to the culinary excitement of this trip!

I've got various pictures of places along the Pilgrim Route, some visited on the way to Santiago, and some on the way back. I think it will be less confusing if I wait until I've been to the last place in Spain tomorrow, then post them in order from the Pyranees to Santiago.
